Fourth - 4th dimension of Architecture

Fourth is an architectural firm that spent years building its reputation as Workplace—a brand specializing in the design and delivery of office spaces for large organizations. However, when we began our collaboration, the company was at a critical turning point. While it boasted a strong portfolio, extensive experience with demanding clients, and the ambition to enter new market segments, its existing identity no longer reflected the scale of those plans.

Project Overview

Project opportunity

Fourth, formerly known as Workplace, was a boutique architectural firm with a strong portfolio of office projects for major Polish corporations. However, the brand struggled to clearly define its market position. On one hand, it possessed extensive experience, a signature design approach, and the ambition to enter new sectors such as health, care, and hospitality. On the other hand, its existing branding, name, and communication failed to keep pace with the scale of these changes.

The challenge, therefore, went beyond simply refreshing the visual identity; it required building an entirely new brand identity. We needed to streamline the strategy, communication, and naming to allow the brand to move past its narrow association with office spaces and begin speaking more broadly about designing places, experiences, and future-ready architecture. The strategy indicated that the previous name was too generic, difficult to remember, and a barrier to the brand’s growth beyond the workplace segment.

247 solution

We began the process by strategically organizing the brand: its positioning, target audience, competitive advantages, and tone of voice. The key was to strike a balance between the two dimensions of Fourth’s operations: creative design and an analytical, insightful approach to space.

This formed the foundation for a new brand identity based on the concept of "Incredibly & insightful"—bridging the emotional power of architecture with a mindset rooted in knowledge, data, and responsible process management. In our strategy, this translated into communication centered on insightful architecture, future-ready places, and spaces that not only function effectively but also leave a lasting impression.

One of the most significant elements of this transformation was the name change from Workplace to Fourth. The new name opened the brand up to a broader scope of activities, gave it a more distinctive, signature character, and became a symbol of a new chapter—both for our clients and our team. Parallel to this, we developed a new branding system designed to move away from the cold, predictable visual language typical of many architectural firms, introducing more energy, personality, and boldness instead.

Project result

The project has resulted in a brand ready for its next stage of growth. Fourth now has a new name, a clear strategy, a consistent tone of voice, and a visual system that better reflects the studio’s character: ambitious, conscious, and design-led, yet human and accessible.

The rebranding has allowed the company to evolve from a brand primarily associated with office fit-outs into an architectural practice capable of speaking more broadly about creating places, spaces, and experiences. The new identity strengthens brand recognition, streamlines the service offering, and supports the company’s business ambitions—entering new market segments and building a reputation beyond its previous specialization.

Fourth has become a more complete brand: strategically organized, visually mature, and ready to engage with diverse audiences—from large corporations and administrative departments to developers, real estate agencies, and project partners.

Fourth is a research-led design studio shaping custom spaces for work, health, retail, and hospitality.
